    Pan-Seared Scallops

    Restaurant-quality seared scallops with a golden caramelized crust and buttery sweet interior. The key is a screaming hot pan and dry scallops.

    Pan-Seared Scallops

    Instructions

      Pat scallops completely dry with paper towels. Remove the side muscle if attached. Season with salt.

      Heat a stainless steel or cast iron skillet over high heat until very hot. Add 1 tbsp butter.

      Place scallops in pan with space between each. Do not move them for 2 minutes.

      Add remaining butter. Flip scallops when bottoms are deeply golden brown. Sear 1-2 minutes more.

      Scallops should be slightly translucent in center. Serve immediately with brown butter from pan.
